We are truly blessed. Every walk along the bay brings something new. While some critters are ubiquitous in the warmer months (dolphins, osprey, and horseshoe crabs), we are surrounded by by wonderful creatures big and small.
We have seen breaching whales, phosphorescent jellies, thieving bald eagles, a large sea turtle (with a mortal wound), a skate several feet across, scurrying ghost crabs, jumping blues, a dying striped bass, fish that “talk” (drums and croakers).
We have seen hundreds of monarch butterflies on a single bush, great blue herons strutting at the water’s edge, and thousands and thousands of silversides and bunker.
The rock jetties are laden with oysters and mussels and limpets.
